Quillno or Quilino

By makas_nc , 31 March, 2022

I'm working with a cousin on his genealogy

One of his ancestors is listed as either first name Quillno or more likely Quilino

Has anyone ever heard of such a first name? Or could a census taker have heard a spanish speaker say his name and written it like that?

What sounds like Quilino for a first name to a non spanish speaker?

Thanks, Joseph

Aquilino is a first name, and, according to Wikipedia, it's a variant of the name Aquiles.

I have seen “Quilino” as an abbreviation of “Aquilino” and “Tranquilino”.

I too have seen Quilino as a fist name. Could also be Quirino.

Almost positive it was short for Tranquilino

Thanks for everyone's comments
